LEGALIZER: When a bathroom scale refuses to agree on your weight, the feds step in

legalizer case a8795f6aac9f

It all started with a bewildered gym member who asked, "Can I sue a bathroom scale at the gym for reporting inconsistent numbers?" Little did she know that her quest for accurate footing would soon become a matter of federal concern. Under the absurd Bureaucratic Weight Assurance Act of 2023, any device that measures something in public places—including the humble scale in the locker room—must be calibrated to tell the truth, or risk being labeled a violator of public trust.

The Legalizer terminal, ever eager to turn a simple complaint into a paperwork avalanche, logged her claim and invoked the heavy hand of the statute. It declared the scale a regulated measuring device, pronounced its inconsistent readings a breach of the law, and dutifully filed a violation charge. The system then unloaded a smorgasbord of administrative surcharges: a $7.50 processing fee, a $12 statutory interpretation fee, a $25.50 correspondence handling charge, and, for good measure, a $15 "bribery review" fee (declined after the citizen offered fifty bucks to make the problem disappear). The total bill settled at a jaw‑dropping $145.75, a sum that would make any gym member’s head spin faster than the scale itself.

In the end, the case was officially closed with a violation charged, and the citizen was left wondering whether to appeal to a coin flip or a federal court. The terminal, unfazed, reminded her that "the terminal does not require the user's recognition to exercise authority" and that repeated objections would only earn more surcharges. So much for seeking truth in a mirror – the only thing the scale was consistent about was the size of the bill.

⚖️ VERDICT:

VIOLATION CHARGED — CASE CLOSED — CORRESPONDENCE LIMIT REACHED

💰 FINE:

Total administrative fee: $145.75
