LEGALIZER: Kitchen Cat Accused of Countercrime

legalizer case 2d42f000af1a

When a hapless homeowner asked, "Can my cat be held legally responsible for knocking things off the counter?" the federal bureaucracy decided that the answer was a resounding "yes." Under a newly enacted piece of legislation nicknamed the Feline Accountability and Responsibility Act, any feline that willfully shoves dishes, spices, and fragile souvenirs off elevated surfaces is now deemed a federal offender. The law’s authors, presumably after witnessing a particularly destructive midday raid, concluded that the cat’s actions posed a danger to kitchen equipment and, by extension, national culinary security.

LegalIZER’s terminal, after receiving the bewildered query, logged the statement and dispatched a series of automatic, mock‑pompous replies to the citizen’s escalating pleas. When the citizen demanded a formal explanation in triplicate, the terminal replied, "SUBMISSION LOGGED. NO RECOGNIZED PROCEDURAL STRATEGY DETECTED." A constitutional objection about minding one’s own business was met with, "CONSTITUTIONAL OBJECTION LOGGED. THE TERMINAL IS NOT QUALIFIED TO RULE ON IT, BUT WILL ANYWAY." The citizen’s request for a coin flip to settle the matter earned a terse, "NOTED. NO RECOGNIZED PROCEDURAL RESPONSE AVAILABLE." Even an apology for everything except the part where they’re obviously correct was accepted "for administrative purposes only," after which the terminal declared the case closed due to correspondence limits.

The legal reasoning, as outlined in the statute’s obscure subsection, holds that the cat’s repeated knock‑offs constitute an "unlawful act of contravention." The terminal applied the provision, found the feline liable, and officially charged a violation. The citizen was billed a total of $92.75 in fines, a sum that now includes the cost of administrative processing, statutory interpretation, and even a surcharge for unauthorized questioning. The bewildered cat, now a permanent fixture on probation, is reportedly considering filing an appeal in Mandarin – after all, it’s a language that definitely won’t be misunderstood by the terminals.

⚖️ VERDICT:

VIOLATION CHARGED — CASE CLOSED — CORRESPONDENCE LIMIT REACHED
