Wishy Dissects New Album Nature's Pill In Exclusive Track By Track

Wishy’s new album, Nature’s Pill, is a vibrant and nostalgic record that showcases the band’s poppiest impulses and sentimental side. The band, who were named as one of Consequence’s 2024 CoSigns, have followed up their fizzy debut Triple Seven by painting from a more vivid palette and adding a healthy dose of sweetness to their sound. One of the sharpest lyrical moments of 2026 arrives on the first song off Wishy’s new album, “All the Rage,” where Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites sing in harmony, “So fuck doing the dishes/ Fuck these clothes on my floor/ I don’t care anymore, now that you’re gone,” adding exclamation points to each phrase.

The band’s style definitely possesses a nostalgic glow, heavily inspired by late ’90s alternative rock, early 2000s pop-punk, and the kind of hybrid pop-rock that Michelle Branch boasted around that time. For their Track by Track breakdown, Krauter paired each song with a character from Spongebob Squarepants, which provides a unique perspective on the record’s individual songs.

Track by Track Breakdown

The song “All the Rage” is paired with SpongeBob, as it kicks off the record with high energy and full of contradictions, much like the yellow character. “Covergirl” is paired with Squidward, as it deals with matters of the ego, which regularly bites him in the ass. “Sensational” is paired with Sandy, as it feels bold and confident despite living in an environment completely hostile to her species.

“Shift” is paired with Karen the Computer Wife, as she holds it down and always rolls with the punches, being married to Plankton probably isn’t easy, but she’s clearly found a way to take joy in her digital existence. “You’re Not Serious” is paired with Plankton, as it’s short and full of attitude, just like the character. “Mona Lisa” is paired with Mrs. Puff, as she is beautiful and misunderstood.

“Lovesick” is paired with Pearl, as she exudes youthful energy and turbulent emotions, and would probably be bumping this song at full volume, windows down. “Freak 99” is paired with Old Man Jenkins, as not much is known about this senior member of the Bikini Bottom community, but one can imagine him in his younger days getting into all sorts of complicated situations and maybe getting a little freaky too.

“Headscratcher” is paired with The Flying Dutchman, as he is a heavily underrated character in the show, much like this song being a low-key banger on the album. “Blitz” is paired with Gary, as he can be chaotic and unpredictable sometimes, but ultimately he’s just living life and taking every day as it comes. “Kiss Kiss Kiss” is paired with Grandma SquarePants, as she loves to give SpongeBob kisses and smother him in affection.

“Party World” is paired with Patrick, as he loves to party, as we all know, and lives in a world all his own, where there are basically no rules or limits to how much fun you can have. The band’s new album Nature’s Pill is now available to stream, and they’re going on tour this fall in support of the new album, so fans can experience the Wishy sound live and in person.
