It’s no secret that Olivia Rodrigo may be the biggest White Stripes stan there is. As a teenager, she ran a fan site for the band and had “Jack White’s biggest fan” in her Instagram bio. That devotion has continued even as Rodrigo has become one of music’s biggest pop stars: she since befriended Jack White, helped induct The White Stripes into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, and name-drops the band in pretty much every interview she gives.
Olivia Rodrigo recently revealed in a Q&A with The Hollywood Reporter that ahead of her inaugural Daisy Chains Field festival, she purchased the vintage white Gunne Sax prairie-style dress Meg White wore on the cover of The White Stripes’ Elephant. The dress recently sold at Julien’s Auctions for $25,600.
Rodrigo ultimately decided against wearing the dress at Daisy Chains because it was too hot outside, but she’s holding onto it for a future occasion. “Maybe if I do Daisy Chain in the winter, I can wear it,” she told Variety.
Current Tours
Rodrigo recently launched “The Unraveled Tour” in support of her brilliant third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. Jack White is also on the road at present, touring behind his own new album, Frozen Charlotte.
Olivia Rodrigo and Jack White are both making waves in the music industry, with their respective tours and albums. Rodrigo’s devotion to The White Stripes is evident in her music and interviews, and her purchase of the iconic dress is a testament to her fandom. With both artists currently on tour, fans can expect to see great performances from Rodrigo and White in the coming months.
