Daddy Yankee has announced his 13th studio album, LA POSTAL, arriving October 30th via DY Music. The Puerto Rican reggaeton pioneer has also shared the album’s lead single, “BOTZ (Bésame Otra Vez),” alongside a music video directed by STILLZ. Spanning 15 tracks, LA POSTAL is described as Daddy Yankee’s first concept album, exploring romantic love, family, self-love, and his relationship with Latin music.
The record will also incorporate Afro-Caribbean and Punjabi influences alongside his signature reggaeton sound. “A postcard says something a text can’t; I stopped, I thought of you, and I wanted you to hold onto it,” Daddy Yankee said of the album’s concept through a statement. “That’s the spirit of this album.”
Album Details
Co-written with Keityn and produced by Jeremy Ayala, L.e.x.v.z., DUP, and Xound, “BOTZ” draws on Daddy Yankee’s reggaeton roots while introducing new melodic elements. Despite its futuristic-sounding title, the acronym stands for “Bésame Otra Vez,” or “Kiss Me One More Time.”
“It touches on my hardcore reggaeton roots with some new textures and melodies,” Daddy Yankee explained. “It’s got the DY sound, and it’s very catchy.”
Music Video and Upcoming Honors
The accompanying video, directed by STILLZ, uses stop-motion animation to capture real couples moving toward a kiss, interspersed with footage of Daddy Yankee performing.
The announcement arrives ahead of Daddy Yankee being honored as the Latin Recording Academy’s 2026 Person of the Year. The private tribute gala will take place November 11th in Las Vegas during Latin Grammy Week, recognizing a career that helped bring reggaeton into the global mainstream.
With the release of LA POSTAL and the honor of being named 2026 Person of the Year, Daddy Yankee continues to solidify his position as a pioneer in the reggaeton genre, and fans can expect more exciting music and performances from him in the future.
