The fire was likely started by some sparkler-like pyrotechnics, but the country music singer was able to joke off the little blaze. “That looks bad,” she jokingly said. “I have way too much hairspray to be standing under that shit.”
The Show Must Go On
She told the crowd a story about how spending time alone while making her latest album gave her anxiety. “So does that,” she quipped, looking up at the fire. “I only like pyro when I know what the hell’s going to happen,” she told the bemused crowd. “Does anyone have a bedazzled fire extinguisher anywhere?”
The fire only caused a momentary, humorous distraction from the show and Kacey Musgraves finished out the 23-song set. During the same show, Musgraves paid tribute to Dolly Parton with performances of “Rainbow” and “Here You Come Again.”
