The Dead Daisies Tap Kelly Hansen as New Lead Vocalist

The Dead Daisies Tap Kelly Hansen as New Lead Vocalist

The Dead Daisies have announced that former Foreigner singer Kelly Hansen is their new frontman, along with unveiling dates for a 2027 tour as well as a new single titled “Lift Me Up.” Since forming in 2012, the supergroup has featured singers Jon Stevens (INXS, Noiseworks), John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, The Scream), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze), and most recently, Corabi again. Now, they start a new chapter featuring Hansen, longtime guitarists Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio) and David Lowy (MINK, Red Phoenix), drummer Tommy Clufetos (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath), and bassist Jimi Crutchley (The Quireboys).

New Chapter for The Dead Daisies

The band is currently working on a new album, and have offered up a preview with the new single “Lift Me Up,” a riff-heavy rocker showcasing Kelly Hansen‘s powerful pipes. Hansen left Foreigner last year after 20 years as their lead singer. In a new statement on joining the Dead Daisies, Hansen noted, “When I left Foreigner after 20 great years, I told everybody I wasn’t ‘retiring’ just moving on to other things. This project gives me the opportunity to stretch out with some new melodies, a new vibe and fresh energy. We’re gonna rock it!”

Upcoming Tour Dates

The band has announced a Spring 2027 US tour featuring support from BulletBoys and The Fell (featuring Billy Sheehan), to go along with a March 2027 UK/European run. The stateside outing runs from April 30th at Mickey’s Black Box in Lititz, Pennsylvania, through a May 15th gig at a to-be-confirmed venue in Los Angeles, with ticket details to be unveiled shortly. Doug Aldrich stated, “‘Lift Me Up’ started off as a dead simple guitar riff and heavy groove….as the song progressed the melody just grew from there. It’s very melodic and the lyric reflects positively and a vibe to lift us up in these crazy times. We’re working on more cool music for the album right now and I’m excited about where it’s heading. It’s also gonna be amazing to be onstage with Kelly Hansen again after all these years! His vocal range is exceptional and he’s a badass frontman. Can’t wait to get out there and see you all in 2027!!”
