Mexican singer-songwriter Girl Ultra has announced a 24-date North American headlining tour in support of her new album, RRRomeo, which arrives Friday, October 9th via Ninja Tune. The project finds her working alongside Chromeo, who co-produced the album.
Local pre-sales for select venues begin on Thursday, October 8th at 10:00 a.m. local time, followed by the general on-sale on Friday, October 9th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
RRRomeo pushes beyond the R&B sound with which Girl Ultra first made her name, pulling from garage rock, house, pop, funk, and other sounds.
Chromeo also appear on RRRomeo itself, most notably on “Ironía,” which features Dave 1 singing in Spanish for the first time. The collaboration builds on a relationship that stretches back several years and eventually saw Girl Ultra join the Canadian duo on tour. Buscabulla, Empress Of, and French producer Jean Tonique also make guest appearances on the album.
