Jane Seymour Talks Harry Wild And Joe Lando Chemistry

Jane Seymour is back as the delightfully sharp Harriet “Harry” Wild for the fifth season of Harry Wild, and the Acorn TV mystery continues to find a bigger audience with every new batch of episodes. Speaking with Kyle Meredith, the legendary actress discusses why she believes the latest season is the show’s strongest yet, the long-awaited reunion with Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman co-star Joe Lando, the surprising longevity of the series, and even the remarkable music history tied to her homes.

Season 5 of Harry Wild

For Seymour, five seasons hasn’t meant settling into routine. Instead, she sees Harry Wild continuing to evolve, especially with Joe Lando joining the cast as pathologist Pierce Kennedy. “I think Season 5 is our best season yet,” she says. “We’ve established something with bringing Joe Lando in that the fans are loving.” The decision to bring Lando aboard was one she championed, and once cameras rolled, everyone understood why. “After the first day of shooting, they went, ‘Oh my God… you’re crackling with chemistry here. What’s happening?’ I said, ‘Well, we did seven years of Dr. Quinn, two other movies…’” Seymour laughs that the connection isn’t something actors can manufacture: “You don’t learn it. You don’t study for it. You don’t try to do it. It either happens or it doesn’t.”

Jane Seymour’s Music History

The conversation also detours into Seymour’s unexpected place in rock history. Long before musicians routinely retreated to remote studios, she was opening her English castle to artists looking for inspiration, leading to sessions for The Cure’s Wild Mood Swings, Radiohead’s OK Computer, Johnny Cash, and many others. Today, that tradition continues at her Malibu home. “There was a vibe in that house that was unbelievable, and we have the same vibe here in Malibu,” she says. “I’m immersed in music. I do not play any of it, and I don’t sing, but I am definitely a muse,” she smiles. For Seymour, creativity simply fills every room. “The middle of the night, suddenly a song will come into someone’s head… That’s the world I live in. I love creativity.”
