Weird Al Teams Up with Batman and Superman in DC Comics

Weird Al Teams Up with Batman and Superman in DC Comics

Batman and Superman are teaming up with an unlikely ally to save the fifth dimension from creeping normality: “Weird Al” Yankovic. In DC Comics’ new one-shot comic Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest #1, the iconic parodist joins forces with the Justice League’s Big Two to fight against an unknown force that is turning the fifth dimension – a plane of existence made entirely of imagination – utterly ordinary. The imp Mr. Mxyzptlk seeks Batman and Superman to help his home realm, only to discover Earth is also afflicted with the dulling distemper, prompting them to turn to the master of the mad, “Weird Al!”

The 40-page comic was written by comic great Mark Waid, who nails “Weird Al” Yankovic‘s voice, as seen in the preview spread. Dan Schoening handled the art and main cover, as well as a foil variant cover that mimics “Weird Al” Yankovic‘s classic sophomore album “Weird Al” Yankovic in 3-D. Other artists, including Jerry Gaylord, Riley Rossmo, and Mark Spears, also contributed variant covers.

“Weird Al” Yankovic is having a remarkable 2026, with his massive “BIGGER & WEIRDER 2026 Tour” still ongoing. He has also recently unearthed his long-lost short film Al’s Brain: A 3-D Journey Through the Human Brain and accompanying “The Brain Song” video, made his grand return to NPR’s Tiny Desk, and is giving the UHF score soundtrack its first-ever vinyl release. Additionally, he is bringing the film UHF to LA’s Greek Theatre for a live orchestra scoring on Halloween and working on a Broadway jukebox musical called Dare to Be Stupid.

With all the craziness going on everywhere, it’s a great year to be weird, and “Weird Al” Yankovic is at the forefront of it all. His collaboration with Batman and Superman in Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest #1 is just the latest example of his unique blend of humor and creativity, and fans are sure to love it. As the DC Comics universe continues to expand and evolve, it will be exciting to see what other unexpected team-ups and adventures are in store for “Weird Al” Yankovic and the Justice League.
