A new documentary titled Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple is set to premiere on CBC on September 23rd, and it will feature the surviving RUSH members performing with a handful of notable drummers.
The film features interviews with RUSH’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, as well as the duo playing RUSH material with Tool’s Danny Carey, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, and The Police’s Stewart Copeland.
The Documentary
The documentary covers Neil Peart’s life from his early career gigging in Canada and then London to his meteoric rise to become considered one of the greatest rock drummers in history. The legendary musician died in 2020 at the age of 67 following a private battle with brain cancer.
RUSH on Tour
RUSH are currently on tour in North America as part of their “Fifty Something” reunion tour. The lengthy run features former Jeff Beck drummer Anika Nilles behind the kit in Peart’s place, and she is absolutely crushing it.
Consequence named the outing one of our 10 must-see hard rock and metal tours of the summer, something we can affirm in our reviews of the Kia Forum and Madison Square Garden shows. RUSH fans can get tickets to the remaining shows, which will surely be an unforgettable experience with Anika Nilles on drums, playing the iconic RUSH songs that Neil Peart helped create.
