Queens of the Stone Age Drop New Album Perfecth and Single

Queens of the Stone Age have officially announced their new album, Perfecth, set to arrive on October 30th via Matador Records. Ahead of its release, the band has unveiled the new single “Insignificant Other.”

Queens of the Stone Age have been teasing the album since last week, when they released a bloody promo video starring frontman Josh Homme and guitarist-keyboardist Deam Fertita. Although the clip mentioned a September 30th release date, the band has now confirmed that Perfecth will arrive on October 30th.

Album Details

Perfecth is the follow-up to 2023’s In Times New Roman…, and Queens of the Stone Age’s ninth album overall. The LP was produced by Josh Homme and his Queens of the Stone Age bandmate Michael Shuman.

The album features nine tracks, including the newly released single “Insignificant Other.” Josh Homme says of the new tune, “It’s a song about distance. About how someone can be your entire world only to simply vanish. And about the strange vertigo of being on the receiving end of that.”

Single Release

“Insignificant Other” follows last month’s single “Easy Street”. The band has also unveiled a new comedic promo clip starring the band members and their pets, titled “Big Chongus”.

Regarding the album title, Josh Homme explained, “Nothing in this world is perfect, but everything seems to be ‘perfecth.’ And that title is funny when you’re in a group, but it ain’t so funny when you’re alone.”

Josh Homme added of the album’s nine tracks, “Every song sounds like it’s from a different world. And that’s on purpose, because it’s trying to stitch together all these emotions revolving around love, lust, foolishness, and the sort of wisdom that comes as a gift from all that.”

Pre-Order and Tour

Perfecth is available for pre-order in multiple formats, including a limited deluxe edition featuring a gatefold LP package that includes handwritten lyrics, stationary, stamps housed inside a custom envelope, and “a bespoke piece of art temporarily placed in a custom pocket.”

Meanwhile, Queens of the Stone Age will kick off the second leg of their North American tour supporting Foo Fighters on September 15th in Regina, Saskatchewan.
