Folks, I’m sipping my coffee and reading about President Trump’s latest project, and I have to say, it’s a doozy. Apparently, he’s planning to restore a golf course in Washington, DC, and it’s already wrapped up in litigation. Because, why not, right? The man loves his golf, and I guess he wants to leave his mark on the nation’s capital. Trump said that the restoration work will begin on November 15, and he even shared an architectural rendering of what he claims will be a “world-class championship golf course” developed by the Department of Interior and golf course architect Tom Fazio.
I mean, I’m no expert, but it sounds like Trump is trying to make this golf course a big deal. He’s saying it’ll be open to the public, but also designed to hold world-class tournaments like the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. That’s a pretty tall order, if you ask me. And, of course, there are already groups seeking to preserve the site, because, you know, trees and cyclists and all that jazz.
Now, I’m not one to get too worked up about golf courses, but it seems like Trump’s plans have faced some legal challenges. He previously stated that renovations would start on September 1, but that didn’t happen, because, well, lawsuits. And now, US District Judge Ana Reyes is “furious” with the Trump administration for cutting down over 400 trees without notifying the court. I guess that’s not exactly how you’re supposed to do things, but hey, who needs rules, right?
The administration says the tree removal is just routine maintenance, but Judge Reyes isn’t having it. She’s put a temporary hold on any further tree removals, which might make it harder for Trump to get his renovation work done on time. And, because this is a Trump story, the administration is now requesting that Judge Reyes be removed from the case, citing “bias.” Because, you know, that’s always the answer, right?
You can’t make this stuff up, folks. I mean, I’m just reading about it, and I’m entertained. Trump’s got his golf course, his lawsuits, and his tree-cutting controversies. It’s like a never-ending soap opera, and I’m here for it. Somewhere in Atlanta, a producer thought this sounded terrifying, but I just think it’s a big ol’ mess.
In conclusion, it’s just another day in the world of Trump, folks. Golf courses, lawsuits, and tree-cutting drama. I’ll just stick to my coffee and enjoy the show. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll get to play a round of golf on Trump’s new course. Ha! Like I’d be able to afford it.
