Wage War have announced a new studio album, Landfall, set for release October 9th via Fearless Records. Alongside the news of the album, the band released the title track.
The metalcore band will support the album with a previously announced North American tour supported by We Came As Romans, Varials, and Cane Hill. The outing is set to kick off October 25th in San Antonio, passing through St. Louis, Toronto, and Philadelphia, among other cites, before ending in Orlando, Florida, on November 27th, with tickets available here.
Album Details
“Landfall” carries a heavy Korn influence in the particular attack to the downtuned guitars and the timbre of the harsh vocals. The mix is compressed and punchy, riding the line between nu-metal and extreme metal before opening up into a clean vocal chorus that still carries that heavy attack. The outro lets a very Meshuggah lead go into a deathcore breakdown, showing an impressive range of heavy music styles in a compact package.
Band Statement
Wage War stated, “‘Landfall’ is a song about imminent danger and the realization that we aren’t in control. Referencing our Florida roots, the hurricane imagery became a way of talking about that feeling of being completely at the mercy of something bigger than yourself. Musically, we wanted the verses to feel heavy and threatening, with the chorus being somber and inevitable.
