Sophia has become the second member of KATSEYE to take a hiatus from the group, citing her mental health. Back in February, one of her bandmates, Manon, also announced her own temporary hiatus, citing her “personal health and wellbeing.”
“It truly breaks my heart to have to miss out on a lot,” Sophia wrote in a statement. “You know how much I love being on stage, performing, and sharing these moments with you. Making this decision wasn’t easy, but I’m learning that health has to come first. I’m realizing that if I don’t take care of my mind and body now, I won’t be able to keep doing what I love the most for so long.”

KATSEYE are set to release their new EP, Wild, on August 14th. Before then, the group will perform at 88rising Festival: Head In The Clouds in Pasadena this weekend and appear on The Tonight Show on August 12th.
