The Justice Department’s filing even stated that the Department of Interior was in possession of information that contradicted the vandalism narrative, but they withheld it. It’s a wonder how this case made it as far as it did.
In the end, it’s a relief that the case was dropped, and Hearn’s name can be cleared. But it’s also a reminder of the dangers of politicized justice and the importance of seeking the truth, even if it’s inconvenient. As I finish my coffee, I’m left shaking my head at the sheer audacity of it all.
