Louisiana sludge masters Acid Bath brought their reunion tour to New York City this past Friday, August 21st, with an outdoor show at Pier 17, featuring support from veteran death metallers Obituary.
Metal fans filled the waterfront venue against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline for what marked Acid Bath’s third New York City appearance since returning to the stage in 2025, ending a nearly three-decade absence following the band’s original breakup in 1997.
Reunion Tour Details
The show also arrived during what has been an unusually wet stretch of outdoor concerts in New York, with Friday providing one of the few recent nights where the weather managed to cooperate.
Acid Bath delivered a 10-song set that kicked off with “Tranquilized” and wrapped up with “The Blue,” with all songs taken from their only two studio albums, 1994’s When the Kite String Pops and 1996’s Paegan Terrorism Tactics. Obituary opened the night with a 12-song set spanning their 40-plus-year career.
