Trump Clarifies Iran Nuke Threat With gibberish

Trump Clarifies Iran Nuke Threat With gibberish

Folks, I almost spilled my coffee reading this one. President Donald Trump is at it again, and this time, he’s got everyone talking about his comments on Iran and Los Angeles and San Diego. According to CNN, Trump said, “They can take out a city,” referring to Iran, and then added, “Let them take – let it – let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. That’s – this is a very small price to pay.” Now, I know what you’re thinking, and I was thinking it too – what is he talking about? But, as it turns out, Trump was probably trying to say that the cost of gas prices is a small price to pay for keeping the world safe from Iran’s nuclear threats.

Now, I’m not going to lie, it’s a bit of a stretch to interpret Trump’s comments that way, especially given his history of, shall we say, creative language. And, bless their hearts, some folks, including Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders and Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy, are accusing Trump of basically saying it’s okay if Iran nukes Los Angeles and San Diego. But, if you look at the context and Trump’s previous statements, it seems like he was trying to make a point about the cost of preventing a nuclear Iran, not advocating for the destruction of two major American cities.

You can’t make this stuff up, folks. Trump’s comments were made during a rally in Nebraska, and, apparently, he was talking about the cost of gas prices being a small price to pay for keeping the world safe. He said something about gas prices being high, but without actually saying “gas prices,” and then jumped off on a tangent about Venezuela. It’s no wonder people are confused. Even a GOP congressional candidate, Jim Desmond, seemed to interpret it in the worst way possible.

Somewhere in Atlanta, a producer thought this sounded terrifying, and now we’ve got a whole controversy on our hands. But, let’s be real, Trump’s rhetoric is often anything but clear and authoritative. I mean, have you read some of his recent interviews? It’s like trying to decipher a code. And, it’s not just me, folks – even his supporters are starting to get a little lost in the “weave,” as he calls it.

Now, I’m not saying Trump is the most articulate guy, but, come on, folks, let’s not jump to conclusions. He’s probably just trying to make a point, even if he’s not doing it very well. And, who knows, maybe he’s just trying to distract us from the real issues. Anyway, that’s my two cents on this whole thing. It’s just another day in the world of politics, folks, and I’m just here for the coffee and the entertainment.
