Asthma 411 School Health Staff Spring 2026 In-Service: Where Inhalers Meet Inservice – Breathing New Life into Boring Meetings!

At the Cook Children’s Center for Community Health, we are committed to enhancing the skills of school health professionals in managing asthma effectively.

School staff and administrators who work directly with youth are invited to join us online for the Spring 2026 Asthma 411 School Health Staff In-Service focused on planning and implementing a school-wide asthma emergency response plan. Please share with fellow teachers, coaches and administrators to join us in this live event!

By attending this in-service, school health staff will:

1. Identify early symptoms of asthma distress and recognize when a situation requires routine support versus emergency response.

2. Describe how communication between professional disciplines directly affects student safety and learning.

3. Identify strategies to effectively collaborate with parents and guardians to obtain, implement, and communicate individualized asthma action plans, ensuring consistent asthma management across home and school settings.

Unable to attend the live event? This session will be recorded and made available on www.cookchildrenscommunity.org/asthma a few weeks after the live presentation. The recording will remain open till Dec. 30th, 2026. Complete the evaluation no later than Dec. 30th.
