Oh great, another day, another Spider-Man spin-off nobody asked for—but this time, Nicolas Cage is swinging in like a drunken bat out of Hell, and somehow, it’s *exactly* what we deserve.
Today, Prime Video dropped the first teaser for *Spider-Noir*, and if you thought the Marvel Cinematic Universe couldn’t get any more unhinged, you were wrong. Starring Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly—a washed-up 1930s private eye turned reluctant web-slinger—this series is basically *L.A. Confidential* meets *Wicker Man*, but with more spandex and less bees.
And because modern audiences apparently can’t decide if they want their noir in color or black and white, the show will offer two viewing modes: “Authentic Black & White” for the purists and “True-Hue Full Color” for those who think everything looks better with a splash of teal. You know, because *choices* are the cornerstone of good storytelling. (*eyeroll*)
The cast reads like a “Where Are They Now?” reunion special: Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Jack Huston, and—wait for it—Karen Rodriguez from *Acapulco*. Yes, the tropical resort comedy star is now in a gritty 1930s superhero noir. I’m sure the tonal whiplash will be *delightful*.
Directed by Harry Bradbeer (*Fleabag*) and written by Oren Uziel (*22 Jump Street*), the show is being produced by the same brain trust behind *Spider-Verse*, which is either a stroke of genius or a recipe for existential confusion. Honestly, at this point, I’m just here for the memes.
So mark your calendars: May 27, 2026. Whether you’re a Cage fanatic, a Spider-Man completionist, or just someone who enjoys watching Hollywood throw spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks, *Spider-Noir* is poised to be the most gloriously bizarre thing on your screen this year.
Just don’t expect Uncle Ben to make it out alive. 😬
