Trump Promises War and Cheap Gas, Because Elections

Trump Promises War and Cheap Gas, Because Elections

Folks, I’m sipping my coffee and reading about President Trump’s latest predictions, and I have to say, it’s quite a show. He thinks Iran will abandon its war effort after the US midterm elections, and I’m not sure if I should be impressed by his optimism or concerned about his timing. Trump believes that Iran is trying to damage him politically by continuing the war into November, which is an interesting take on things. I mean, who doesn’t love a good conspiracy theory with their morning coffee?

Trump was speaking to reporters on his way to the GOP midterm convention in Dallas, and he seemed pretty confident that Iran would seek an end to the conflict “immediately after the election.” He even thinks that oil prices will tumble downward once the war is over, which would be great news for American drivers. However, he also conceded that gas prices are unlikely to fall before the midterm elections, which might not be the best news for his party.

The President’s remarks come as the global benchmark oil price has topped $100 a barrel once again, driven by stepped-up fighting in Iran in recent days. This has further jeopardized the flow of crude through the Strait of Hormuz, which is never good news for the global economy. Trump has repeatedly insisted that oil prices will fall precipitously once the war is over, and he’s dismissed concerns about the political impact by saying that Americans are supportive of the broader offensive against Iran.

Trump even went so far as to say that it’s “very easy to explain” the situation to Americans, and that all you have to do is ask if they want to let Iran have a nuclear weapon. Well, I suppose that’s one way to simplify a complex issue. I’m not sure if it’s that easy, but I do know that the situation with Iran is a serious one, and we should all be paying attention.

As I finish my coffee and wrap up this article, I have to say that I’m a bit skeptical about Trump’s predictions. I mean, who knows what will happen in the world of politics and international relations? But one thing’s for sure – it’s going to be an interesting few months. And who knows, maybe Trump will be proven right, and Iran will abandon its war effort after the midterm elections. Wouldn’t that be something? As I always say, you can’t make this stuff up, and I’m just along for the ride, folks. The real question is, will gas prices come down before I have to fill up my truck again? Now that’s a prediction I’d like to see come true.
