OSCAR GARCIA’s TERRORIZER LA Wastes Everyone’s Time at ‘End Meaningless Noise Vol 3’ in the City of Angels

So, get this: Vocalist Oscar Garcia’s ego trip, I mean, version of TERRORIZER, cleverly disguised as TERRORIZER LA (because originality is SO overrated 🙄), graced the “End Meaningless Noise Vol. 3” festival on June 29 at 1720 in the armpit of Los Angeles, California. You can witness the sheer sonic brilliance (or lack thereof) of the entire performance, all thanks to sexthrash69 on YouTube. Bless their heart for documenting this historical event. 🤘

Behold, the magnificent lineup of TERRORIZER LA:

Oscar Garcia: Vocals (because who else would want the job?)
Leon del Muerte: Guitar (probably wondering how he ended up here)
Cosmo Reveles: Bass (holding down the low end, or at least trying to)
Adam Houmam: Drums (desperately trying to keep up with the blast beats of yore)

Now, let’s rewind a bit. Before Pete Sandoval sold his soul to MORBID ANGEL, recording the groundbreaking “Altars Of Madness” in 1989, he slummed it with TERRORIZER. Can you imagine? Two demos and a split album! The horror! 😱 But hey, that 1989 full-length debut, “World Downfall,” is still hailed as some kind of pinnacle. Fast blast-beats, double-bass drumming, and the late Jesse Pintado shredding (RIP, legend) alongside Garcia. And who could forget David Vincent on bass? Talk about a supergroup…of questionable talent. 😂

Fast forward 33 years, and Sandoval, in between MORBID ANGEL gigs (because bills gotta be paid, right?), decided to revisit TERRORIZER. Two more “cataclysmic” full-lengths emerged: 2006’s “Darker Days Ahead” and 2012’s “Hordes Of Zombies.” Because the world needed more zombie-themed death metal. 🧟‍♂️ And then, in 2018, they unleashed “Caustic Attack,” which they described as their “heaviest and most eclectic album to date.” I’m sure it was a real game-changer. NOT.

Sandoval, now a born-again Christian (because metal and religion go hand in hand, obviously 😇), was “forced” to leave MORBID ANGEL in 2010 after a prolapsed disc incident. Maybe all those blast beats finally caught up with him? 🤔

Last year, Sandoval and Vincent, in a desperate attempt to recapture past glory (or maybe just pay the bills), resurrected TERRORIZER with Brian Werner (VITAL REMAINS) on vocals and Richie Brown (EXMORTUS, THE ABSENCE, TRIVIUM, I AM MORBID) on guitar. Talk about a revolving door of mediocrity. 🚪

Back in 2021, TERRORIZER (the Sandoval/Vincent version, not the LA knockoff) signed a worldwide deal with Earache Records. At that time, the band consisted of Sandoval, Lee Harrison on guitar, and Sam Molina on bass/vocals. So many lineups, so little talent. 🤷

But wait, there’s more! Oscar, bless his heart, launched TERRORIZER LA over a decade ago. Apparently, Pintado’s sister invited him to assemble a new lineup for a festival celebrating Jesse’s 45th birthday. A touching tribute, or a blatant attempt to cash in on a dead man’s legacy? You decide! 💰
