In a shocking turn of events, Richard Patrick, the mastermind behind FILTER, and Jim Louvau, vocalist of THERE IS NO US, have joined forces to create a new project called A PLACE TO KILL. Because, you know, the world was just missing a collaborative effort between these two talented individuals 🙄. According to an interview with Razor of Tucson, Arizona’s Rock 102.1 KFMA radio station, Patrick and Louvau spoke about their songwriting chemistry, which apparently is “very spontaneous” and “not over-thought out.” Yeah, because that’s exactly what we want from our music – a lack of thought and effort 🤷♂️.
The Music
The duo released their debut seven-song EP, “APTK”, in June, which features tracks like “The Killing Field”, “Drown In A Sea Of Sorrow”, and “Jet Engine”. Because who doesn’t love a good song about killing fields and drowning in sorrow? 🌟 It’s like they’re trying to make us feel all the feels or something. Patrick mentioned that they’re already working on a second EP, which will be released in singles over the next couple of months. Because, you know, we can’t get enough of A PLACE TO KILL’s unique brand of music 🤯.
But wait, it gets better. Patrick and Louvau are also planning to take their project on the road, with possible live shows in the next couple of years. Because what’s a music project without a live show, right? 🎟️ They’re envisioning a stripped-down setup with just the two of them, some smoke, fog machines, and lights. It’s like they’re trying to create a haunting atmosphere or something 🕷️. And, of course, they’ll be playing festivals, because that’s what all the cool kids are doing these days 🎪.
The History
So, how did this unlikely duo come together? Apparently, they first met in 2008 when Louvau interviewed Patrick before a FILTER show. And then, years later, Patrick caught Louvau’s performance at THERE IS NO US’s second-ever show at The Roxy. It was like fate brought them together or something 💫. They would often talk about starting a project together, and now, here we are, with A PLACE TO KILL and their debut EP “APTK”. It’s like a match made in heaven or something 🙏.
But, seriously, who is A PLACE TO KILL and why should we care? 🤔 Are they the next big thing in music or just a flash in the pan? 🌟 Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – they’re definitely making waves in the music scene. And, hey, if you’re into that sorta thing, you can check out their music on YouTube or wherever it is that people listen to music these days 📺. Just don’t say we didn’t warn you 🚨.
So, there you have it, folks – A PLACE TO KILL is a thing, and they’re coming for your ears 🎧. Will you be joining the party or leaving it to the die-hard fans? 🤷♂️ Let us know in the comments below, and don’t forget to like and subscribe for more music news and updates 📣. And, hey, if you’re feeling generous, you can even buy their EP or merch or whatever it is that people buy these days 🛍️. Just don’t expect us to be too excited about it 😐.
