Oh boy, are you guys ready for some more Rolling Stones action? 🤯 I mean, I know I’m not, but apparently millions of you are still clamoring for more of that vintage rock ‘n’ roll goodness. The Stones have just dropped a new video for their single “Mr Charm” from their latest album “Foreign Tongues”, because who doesn’t need more of Mick Jagger’s signature swagger in their lives? 🙄 The video, directed by Henry Scholfield, stars Alexander Skarsgård, because why not, and was shot in the glamorous location of Palmdale, California. I bet the palm trees and sun-kissed landscape really added to the rock ‘n’ roll vibe 🌴.
The video for “Mr Charm” is out now, and because one new song isn’t enough, the band has also released a new track called “Bad Luck Hideaway”, a duet between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, with drums from the late Charlie Watts, recorded during the sessions at British Grove. Yeah, because we didn’t already have enough Rolling Stones music in our lives. The song was produced by Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, because of course it was.
The Rolling Stones: Still Churning Out Hits
I mean, what’s next? Are they going to start releasing music on cassette tapes again? 📼 “Foreign Tongues” was released on July 10 via Polydor Records, and apparently, it’s a big deal, topping the charts in 14 countries globally. The album received widespread critical acclaim, with The Times hailing it as “a career high” and awarding it five stars. Wow, I bet the guys in the band are just thrilled to be still relevant after all these years.
But wait, there’s more! In the lead-up to the announcement of “Foreign Tongues”, the band released a limited white label release of the track “Rough And Twisted” only on vinyl under the name THE COCKROACHES. Because, you know, that’s not a ridiculous thing to do at all. The release sparked excitement and speculation among fans and collectors, offering an early glimpse into the album’s raw and exploratory energy. Yeah, because we were all just dying to know what the new Rolling Stones album would sound like.
Recorded in Under a Month, Because Why Not?
“Foreign Tongues” was recorded during an exceptionally creative period, brought to life in under a month at Metropolis Studios in West London. I guess when you’ve been doing this for as long as the Rolling Stones have, you can just crank out an album in no time. The result is a dynamic and forward-looking record that captures the band’s unmistakable sound while pushing into new sonic and lyrical territory. Yeah, sure, because that’s exactly what we needed, more of the same old Rolling Stones sound with a hint of newness.
And there you have it, folks, the Rolling Stones are still rocking and rolling, and we’re all just along for the ride. So, go ahead and watch the new video for “Mr Charm”, and try to contain your excitement. 🎸🎶
