Folks, I almost spilled my coffee reading this one. It seems that Fox News has decided not to air President Donald Trump’s midterm election rallies live, and let me tell you, he’s not happy about it. I mean, who doesn’t love a good Trump rally, right? But apparently, Fox News thinks they’re not worth showing in full right now, and that’s got Trump perturbed. Bless their hearts, they’re trying to figure out why Fox is giving them the cold shoulder.
I guess it’s no secret that Fox News has been one of Trump’s top ways to reach voters for over a decade, but now it seems like they’re not as interested in showing his speeches. Maybe they think his speeches are getting a bit stale, or maybe they just don’t think they’re worth the airtime. Who knows, but it’s definitely got Trump’s attention.
According to some current and former Fox hosts, the decision not to air Trump’s rallies live is a “freighted calculation” that comes from the top down. One host even said that the conventional wisdom at the network is that “Trump doesn’t rate anymore.” Ouch, that’s gotta hurt. But you know what they say, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks,” and maybe Fox thinks Trump’s just not bringing in the ratings like he used to.
It’s also worth noting that Trump’s approval ratings are hitting record lows, so maybe Fox is just trying to distance themselves from him. I mean, who wants to be associated with someone who’s not exactly popular right now? But at the same time, Trump is still a huge draw for Fox, and they know it. They’ve been carrying his rallies live for years, and it’s always a big ratings boost for them.
I have to say, it’s a bit funny to see Trump threatening to stop watching Fox News because they’re not covering his rallies. I mean, come on, does he really think they’re going to start airing his rallies just because he throws a tantrum? Please. As Tom Durante, the co-managing editor of Mediaite, said, “Trump needs Fox way more than Fox needs him.” That’s just the way it is.
Anyway, it’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out. Will Fox start airing Trump’s rallies again, or will they continue to give him the cold shoulder? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure, it’s going to be a wild ride.
In the end, it’s all just a big game of cat and mouse between Trump and Fox News. They need each other, but they’re both too proud to admit it. So, they’ll just keep playing this game of chicken, and we’ll all get to watch and enjoy the show. And who knows, maybe Fox will start airing Trump’s rallies again, and we’ll all get to enjoy his, ahem, unique brand of entertainment. 🙄
