Folks, I’m sipping my coffee and reading about Hillary Clinton’s latest comments on President Trump’s White House decor, and I have to say, it’s a real treat. According to CNN, Clinton told podcast host Kara Swisher that Trump’s decor is “tackied up” and reminiscent of Saddam Hussein’s palaces in Iraq. I mean, that’s a pretty low blow, but hey, it’s not like we haven’t seen this kind of rhetoric before.
I’m not sure what’s more amusing, Clinton’s comments or the fact that she’s still talking about Trump’s decor. I mean, the guy has been in office for a while now, and you’d think she’d have better things to do than criticize his taste in furniture. But hey, I guess it’s all fair game in politics. And let’s be real, Trump’s decor is definitely…something. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to add gold embellishments to the Oval Office walls? It’s like he raided a Vegas casino and said, “Yeah, this is exactly what the White House needs.”
Clinton also took a jab at Trump’s proposed ballroom, calling it a “carbuncle on the side of the White House.” Okay, I’ll give her that one – it does sound like a bit of an eyesore. But then she said she doesn’t know what she’d do with it if she were in charge, which is just laughable. Come on, Hillary, you’re a former secretary of state – you can’t think of anything better to do with a half-finished ballroom than just leaving it there?
The White House spokesman, Davis Ingle, fired back at Clinton, saying she never had the chance to decorate the Oval Office because she lost the election. Ouch, that’s a bit of a burn. But hey, I guess that’s what happens when you’re a politician – you’ve got to be ready for a few punches. And let’s be real, Trump has been leaving his mark on the White House, from the gold detailing to the “Presidential Walk of Fame” along the Rose Garden colonnade. It’s definitely…a unique look.
I have to say, though, Clinton’s comment about being willing to take on the role of “Secretary of Taking Down the Gold” after Trump leaves office is pretty funny. I mean, I’d pay to see that – her going around the White House with a scraper, removing all the gold accents. It’s a nice thought, but I think she’s got a few other things on her plate.
In the end, it’s all just a big game of political tit-for-tat. Trump does something, Clinton criticizes him, and then his team fires back. But hey, it’s entertaining, and it’s definitely giving me something to laugh about over my coffee. And who knows, maybe one day we’ll have a “Secretary of Taking Down the Gold” – wouldn’t that be a great addition to the cabinet? 🙄
