Trump Resurrects Lake America Because That Worked So Well Last Time

I’m sipping my coffee and reading about President Donald Trump’s latest move, and folks, I almost spilled my coffee reading this one. He’s trying to rename Lake Ontario to “Lake America” because Canada declined to back down in the trade war he started. I mean, come on, who tries to rename a lake? It’s not like he’s trying to make a splash or anything (pun intended). And let’s be real, this is not exactly the kind of thing that’s going to get Americans excited. In fact, it’s probably going to be a complete dud, and I’m not the only one who thinks so.

The article goes on to say that this move is just another example of Trump’s tendency to focus on trivial matters instead of the things that really matter to Americans, like lowering prices. And let’s not forget, he’s already tried to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America” and that didn’t exactly go over well. I mean, who needs to rename a body of water, anyway? It’s not like it’s going to change the fact that it’s still a body of water.

Apparently, Trump signed an executive order to make this change, and I’m wondering what’s next. Is he going to try to rename the Atlantic Ocean or the Pacific Ocean too? I mean, he joked about it, saying “We have a gulf. We have a lake. Now all we need is an ocean.” But seriously, who does this? It’s just so…extra. And the polls are already showing that Americans are opposed to this kind of thing. A recent Ipsos poll showed that 70% of Americans opposed the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico, and I’m sure this one will be just as unpopular.

I’m also reading that even some Republicans are balking at this move, with the GOP nominee for Wisconsin governor, Rep. Tom Tiffany, saying that the name should stay the same. And I’m thinking, yeah, maybe this isn’t the best idea, Donald. I mean, it’s not like you’re going to win any points with the American people by trying to rename a lake. And what’s next? Are you going to try to rename the Grand Canyon or something?

The article also mentions that Trump’s penchant for renaming things has been met with criticism in the past. Remember when he tried to rename the Kennedy Center after himself? Yeah, that didn’t go over well either. And now he’s trying to rename Lake Ontario, and I’m just shaking my head. It’s like, come on, Donald, focus on the things that matter.

In conclusion, this whole thing is just a big mess, and I’m not sure what Trump is trying to accomplish. Is he trying to distract us from the real issues? Is he trying to make a point about something? I don’t know, but what I do know is that renaming Lake Ontario to “Lake America” is just not going to fly. And as I’m finishing my coffee, I’m just thinking, wow, this is just another day in the life of Donald Trump. You can’t make this stuff up, folks. Somewhere in Atlanta, a producer thought this sounded terrifying, but to me, it just sounds like another example of Trump being Trump. Bless their hearts.
