Well, folks, I almost spilled my coffee reading this one. The New Mexico Attorney General, Raúl Torrez, has filed a civil lawsuit against two of Jeffrey Epstein’s closest advisers, Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn. Apparently, they’re accused of having “facilitated and concealed” Epstein’s crimes. I mean, who wouldn’t want to distance themselves from that guy, right? Anyway, Indyke and Kahn have denied any knowledge of or involvement in Epstein’s sex trafficking operation, because that’s exactly what you’d expect them to say.
The two advisers have been under scrutiny for a while now, especially since the Justice Department released some files related to Epstein late last year. Indyke, a longtime Epstein employee and attorney, and Kahn, Epstein’s longtime accountant, are also the co-executors of Epstein’s estate. Torrez’s office started investigating the property Epstein owned in New Mexico, known as Zorro Ranch, after some allegations were included in those files. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that these two guys are also set to receive a pretty penny from Epstein’s trust – $50 million for Indyke and $25 million for Kahn.
Torrez said during a news conference that the civil lawsuit aims to prevent Indyke and Kahn from getting any money from Epstein’s trust. He also stated that “Frankly, if anyone is entitled to a recovery of Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, it’s the survivors.” I couldn’t agree more, but I’m sure Indyke and Kahn’s lawyers will have a field day with this one. After all, they’ve already denied any wrongdoing and claimed they had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes. Bless their hearts.
It’s worth noting that Indyke and Kahn are also reportedly under federal investigation, and they’ve faced multiple lawsuits from survivors for compensation. In February, Torrez reopened New Mexico’s criminal investigation into Zorro Ranch after some disturbing allegations were made. As part of the probe, New Mexico authorities have searched the property, and Torrez has also filed a lawsuit against the DOJ and US Attorney General Todd Blanche, accusing the department of “hiding information about Epstein and his co-conspirators” and “stonewalling” the state’s investigation. You can’t make this stuff up, folks.
Indyke and Kahn have sat for closed-door depositions with the House Oversight Committee, during which they claimed they were unaware of Epstein’s crimes. Indyke even said, “Let me be clear: I had no knowledge whatsoever of Jeffrey Epstein’s wrongdoings.” Sure, because that’s exactly what you’d expect someone to say when they’re being questioned about their involvement in a sex trafficking ring. Meanwhile, Kahn said he never observed any sexual abuse or trafficking of women and never received a complaint about such abuse or trafficking. Yeah, right.
Both men also said during the depositions that if they had known about Epstein’s trafficking of women and girls while working for him, they would have cut ties with him immediately. I’m sure they would have, because who wouldn’t want to distance themselves from a sex trafficker? Somewhere in Atlanta, a producer thought this sounded terrifying, and now we’ve got a whole saga unfolding. Anyway, it’s clear that Indyke and Kahn are in for a wild ride, and I’ll be here sipping my coffee, watching it all go down.
In conclusion, this whole ordeal is just another example of how messed up the world can be. I mean, who gets to inherit $50 million or $25 million from a convicted sex trafficker? It’s just ridiculous. Torrez is right; the survivors are the ones who deserve compensation, not these two guys who claim they had no idea what was going on. As I finish my coffee, I’m left thinking, what’s next in this crazy story? Only time will tell, folks. 🙄
