I mean, who doesn’t love a good crash story to start their day? 🤦♂️ Buckcherry’s guitarist Stevie Dacanay (aka Stevie D.) recently spilled the beans about the accident that occurred on August 21, and I’m still trying to pick my jaw up from the floor 🤯. Apparently, their tour bus was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County, and one person died in the crash 🚨. But don’t worry, all members of the touring crew and group were “safe and unharmed” 🙏, because that’s all that really matters, right? 🤷♂️
According to Stevie, the accident happened when a drunk guy pulled over, got out of his car, and was hit by another vehicle, which then caused a pile-up 🤯. Because, you know, that’s exactly what you want to happen when you’re driving down the highway 🚗. The band’s bus was not drivable after the accident, and they were stuck on the highway until 8:00 a.m. 🕰️, which is basically an eternity when you’re stuck in a bus with a bunch of sweaty musicians 🤢.
The Accident: A Traumatic Experience
Stevie told Laughing Monkey With Shawn Ratches that the accident was a “traumatic kind of thing” 🤕, and I’m shocked 🤯. I mean, who wouldn’t be traumatized by a multi-vehicle accident that resulted in someone’s death? 🤷♂️ It’s not like they’re desensitized to violence or anything 🤣. Stevie also mentioned that the media reports about the accident were “silly” 🤡, and that some outlets were trying to spin the story to get more clicks 📰. Because, you know, that’s exactly what journalists do 📰.
But seriously, folks, the accident was a real thing, and it’s not something to be taken lightly 🙏. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a Toyota Sedan was traveling east on Interstate 26 when it struck a pedestrian on the road 🚨. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and all lanes reopened around 10:30 a.m. that same day 🕰️.
Back to the Music
Anyway, enough about the accident 🙅♂️. Buckcherry is still touring in support of their latest album, “Roar Like Thunder” 🤘, which was released in June 2025 📆. The album was recorded in Nashville at Sienna Studios, and was produced by Marti Frederiksen 🎸, who has worked with some big names like Aerosmith and Def Leppard 🤩. All 10 tracks on the album were written by Josh Todd, Stevie Dacanay, and Marti Frederiksen 📝, because collaboration is key 🤝.
The band’s current lineup includes Josh Todd, Stevie Dacanay, Billy Rowe, Kelly LeMieux, and Francis Ruiz 🤝, and they’re still rocking out 🤘. Stevie has been a defining force in Buckcherry since joining the band in 2005 📆, and his guitar work has helped shape the band’s sound 🎸. So, if you’re a fan of hard rock, you should totally check them out 🤘.
In conclusion, Buckcherry’s tour bus was involved in a multi-vehicle accident, and it’s a miracle that no one in the band was hurt 🙏. But let’s be real, the real miracle is that their music is still relevant in 2025 🤣. So, go ahead and listen to “Roar Like Thunder” 🎵, and try to forget about the accident 🙅♂️. Or don’t 🤷♂️, I mean, it’s not like it’s a big deal or anything 🙄. 🎸👊
