Rico Nasty has announced her fourth studio album, RX, due out July 24th. The Maryland rapper has also revealed the project’s latest single, “Cupcake.” Stream it below.
Album Details
RX was produced by Kenneth Blume (formerly known as Kenny Beats), a longtime collaborator of Rico’s. “I missed someone that was honest with me,” Rico reflected in a press release. “And I missed someone who knew me back then, before I had any success. I felt like if I’m going to get back to doing me, I should go back to someone who can be real with me, somebody who’s not too serious or draining.”
Blume also shared his excitement to be reunited. “From the day we met, no one has made me laugh harder or pushed me further out of my comfort zone,” Blume added. “RX feels like homecoming. This project is a reminder of where she came from, what made us all fans; and a scary look at how much better she KEEPS getting.”
New Single and Music Video
An effervescent bop, “Cupcake” is aligned directly with Rico Nasty’s long-established sugar trap sound. Driven by whirling sonics and digital cascades, Blume’s production sounds custom-made for an adventure in Candy Land, if it were pixelated. Rico Nasty trades her brash delivery for a more coquettish approach here, sounding positively flippant, even when she’s sending shots: “She don’t got fans, she just got bots.”

Previous Collaborations and Tour Dates
Rico Nasty and Blume first shared their chaotic chemistry with the world on the 2019 mixtape, Anger Management, a short, sweet, and stabby effort. The duo reunited on the aggressive, clamoring “Smack a Bitch,” which landed on Rico Nasty’s 2020 debut album, Nightmare Vacation. Recently, they’ve provided a sprinkling of tracks as a means of building anticipation for their collective comeback. The brooding 2025 single “PEPPER” appeared on the LETHAL-ER deluxe edition, while the stuttering, addictive “Rituals” — one of our best songs of the week — arrived last month.
In addition to festival dates, Rico Nasty will support Hayley Williams on “The Hayley Williams Show” Tour in the US, starting September 3rd in West Palm Beach, Florida, followed by dates in Charleston, Charlotte, Raleigh, Cincinnati, and New Orleans. Tickets are available here.
