FBI Offers 15,000 Dollar Reward in Electric Forest Baby Death Case

The FBI is offering a $15,000 reward for “information identification, arrest, and conviction” of the individual or individuals involved in the death of a newborn baby found at Electric Forest music festival in Rothbury, Michigan, last month.

The body of the newborn baby was found deceased inside of a port-a-potty by an employee of the restroom’s vending company during a routine maintenance check. Michigan State Police say “preliminary autopsy findings indicate the infant was viable and was born alive,” but they have not shared any additional details about the victim, including their race, gender, or the exact cause of death. There are currently no announced suspects.

Investigation Update

In a statement Monday announcing the FBI’s involvement, as well as the reward, the Michigan State Police said it “remains committed to a thorough investigation of this incident. We are confident that continued investigative efforts, combined with forensic science, will ultimately lead to the identification of the person responsible.”

“There has been much speculation regarding the circumstances surrounding this incident. To protect the integrity of the investigation, we are unable to discuss many aspects of the evidence at this time,” the statement continued.
