Oh boy, are you guys ready for some earth-shattering news? 🤯 I just found out that Killswitch Engage is taking a break from touring in the States for a “long” time, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever recover from this devastating blow. 😱 I mean, what’s the point of even living if we can’t see Jesse Leach and the gang shredding on stage every few months? 🤷♂️
So, at the recent Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California, Jesse Leach spoke to Baby Huey of 107.7 The Bone about the band’s plans, and let’s just say it’s not all good news. 🙅♂️ They’re heading to New Zealand and Australia, and then they’ll be doing some festivals in Europe next year, but other than that, there’s no solid plan. 🤔 I guess that means we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but I’m not holding my breath or anything. 😒
As for new music, Jesse said he’s pushing for something “faster and heavier and harder” on their next album, but we all know how that usually goes. 🙄 I mean, they might end up making a country album or something, and we’ll all be like, “Wait, what just happened?” 🤠 But hey, at least they’re talking about writing new music, so that’s a plus, right? 🎸
The Songwriting Process: A Magical Mystery Tour
Apparently, the Killswitch Engage songwriting process is like a big ol’ mystery box. 🎁 Each band member submits their own demos, and then they all pick it apart and work on it together. 🤝 It’s like a big team effort, except when it’s not, and they’re all just fighting and stuff. 🤬 But hey, that’s just part of the magic, right? ✨ Jesse loves watching the other guys come up with riffs and ideas, and it’s all very inspiring and whatnot. 🌟
But let’s get back to the important stuff: their last album, “This Consequence”. 📀 It came out in February 2025, and it was their ninth LP overall, and sixth with Jesse Leach on vocals. 📊 It was a big deal, with a Top 10 single and all that jazz. 🎉 And they even did a huge tour with Machine Head, Iron Reagan, and Havok, because why not? 🤘
Unreleased Songs and Benefit Albums: Because Who Doesn’t Love a Good Cause?
So, it turns out that Killswitch Engage recorded 14 tracks during the “This Consequence” sessions, but only 10 made it onto the album. 🤔 What happened to the other four, you ask? 🤷♂️ Well, one of them, “Blood Upon The Ashes”, was released on a benefit album called “The Dogs Of Hope”, which raised funds for an animal shelter in Alabama. 🐾 Because, you know, animals are important, and we should all care about them and stuff. 🐶
And get this: Mike D’Antonio, the band’s bassist, described “Blood Upon The Ashes” as “the one that got away” during the “This Consequence” sessions. 🎣 I guess that means it’s like a rare, mythical creature or something. 🦄 But hey, at least it’s out now, and we can all enjoy it and pretend like we’re making a difference in the world. 🌟
In conclusion, Killswitch Engage is taking a break, but they might make some new music, and they’ve got some unreleased songs floating around. 🤔 So, if you’re a fan, you can just sit back, relax, and wait for them to get their act together. 😴 Or, you know, you could just go listen to their old albums and pretend like everything is okay. 🎧 Either way, it’s all good, right? 🤷♂️
