I’m sipping my coffee and reading about the latest news from Ohio, where Sherrod Brown is trying to make a comeback to the Senate. He’s been talking about inflation, diesel prices, and healthcare costs, but one name that hasn’t come up is Jeffrey Epstein. I find it interesting that Epstein’s name isn’t being mentioned, given the controversy surrounding him. Brown’s opponent, Sen. Jon Husted, has been accused of receiving money from billionaire donor Les Wexner, who has been linked to Epstein. It’s a complex web of connections, and I’m not sure how it will all play out in the election.
It seems like the Epstein issue is being used as a political weapon in key races, with candidates trying to link their opponents to the disgraced financier. Brown’s campaign has run ads accusing Husted of receiving money from Wexner, who has been identified as one of Epstein’s co-conspirators. Husted, on the other hand, has accused Brown of accepting money from Epstein “associates.” It’s a bit of a stretch, if you ask me, but I guess that’s just politics.
The Epstein issue has been a major theme in the midterms, with over 160 unique Epstein-related ads aired in the 2026 midterms, backed by more than $35 million in airtime. It’s clear that candidates think the issue has traction with voters, especially in Ohio, where Wexner is a household name. I’m not sure if it’s going to be a deciding factor in the election, but it’s certainly getting a lot of attention.
I have to say, I’m a bit amused by the whole thing. It’s like a big game of political football, with each side trying to score points off the other. But at the end of the day, I think voters are more concerned about the economy and healthcare than they are about Epstein. Still, it’s going to be interesting to see how it all plays out.
In the end, it’s all about winning votes, and if talking about Epstein is what it takes to get elected, then that’s what candidates are going to do. I just hope that amidst all the politicking, we don’t forget about the real issues that matter to people’s lives. As I finish my coffee, I’m left wondering what other surprises this election season has in store for us. And who knows, maybe the Epstein issue will be the thing that tips the scales in Ohio. Stranger things have happened, right? 🙄
