MOONSPELL’s FERNANDO RIBEIRO Still Pretending Success Is A Shock

Oh boy, are you guys ready for some super deep and insightful quotes from Fernando Ribeiro, the vocalist of MOONSPELL? 😴 I mean, I’m on the edge of my seat over here, and I just can’t wait to dive into the mind of a metal legend who’s been making music for, like, a million years or something. 🤯 Anyway, in a recent interview with Rockin Häkissä, Fernando talked about the band’s latest album, “Far From God”, which was released on July 3 via Napalm Records. Because, you know, the world was just missing a new MOONSPELL album, and now that it’s here, everything is just perfect. 🙄

The Struggle is Real

Fernando said that making new music is always a challenge for a band that’s been around for 35 years, and I’m like, “Wow, what a unique problem to have.” 🙄 I mean, who wouldn’t want to be in a band that’s been making music for decades and still has a loyal fan base? 🤷‍♂️ He also mentioned that they took their time to figure out what kind of music they wanted to make, and I’m over here thinking, “Yeah, because it’s not like you guys have a formula that works or anything.” 🙃

Apparently, MOONSPELL wanted to make a gothic metal album that’s “very simple, very laid back, very atmospheric, very melodic”, which sounds like a real challenge, said no one ever. 😴 I mean, it’s not like they’ve been making music in this genre for years or anything. 🙄 Fernando also said that they were busy touring and working on other projects, including an album with a symphonic orchestra, because why not, right? 🤔

The Creative Process

Fernando talked about the importance of being in the same room with the rest of the band to create music, and I’m like, “Yeah, because that’s not how most bands work these days.” 🙄 He also said that music is a collective thing, and that he doesn’t believe in doing it solo, which is pretty rich coming from a guy who’s been in a band for decades. 🤷‍♂️ I mean, what does he know about being in a band, right? 🙃

The album was produced by Jaime Gomez Arellano, who’s worked with other big names like PARADISE LOST, GHOST, and SÓLSTAFIR, because who doesn’t love a good name-drop? 🤩 Arellano initially worked with MOONSPELL in their own studio before moving on to his Orgone Studios for the actual recording, because why not use a fancy studio when you can? 🤔

In conclusion, MOONSPELL’s new album “Far From God” is out now, and it’s probably going to be a game-changer or something. 🙄 I mean, who needs games when you have MOONSPELL, right? 🤷‍♂️ Fernando and the gang are probably going to tour the world, play some shows, and make all the metalheads happy, and I’ll just be over here, waiting for the next big thing in metal. 🤔👀
