SANTA MONICA, CA—Stating that they were looking forward to another spectacular and soul-stirring awards ceremony in February, the Recording Academy confirmed Friday that the list of artists not boycotting the Grammys was down to Meghan Trainor, Susan Boyle, and Sugar Ray. “While we are disappointed that some musicians have declined to participate, we could not be happier with the depth and diversity of talent represented by the three acts remaining in contention,” said Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr., in response to a statement from K-pop powerhouse BTS confirming they would be dropping out of consideration for the 2027 awards. “It’s going to be a great night! It’ll be really exciting to see which of the three of them takes home the new Grammy for Best Asian Pop award. I know I’m not supposed to say this, but personally, I’m rooting for Susan Boyle.” At press time, the Recording Academy was in full PR crisis mode after Sugar Ray posted a message on Instagram stating that they would not be submitting to this year’s Grammys.
