At least three people were killed, and two others were injured, according to Josh Palmer, the public information officer. I mean, who expects a shooting at a burger joint? It’s just not something you see every day, especially in a city like Twin Falls, which is about 130 miles southeast of Boise.
I’m reading that the Twin Falls Police Department is urging residents to avoid the area, and I don’t blame them. The roads and the Perrine Bridge are closed, and the police are working to secure the area. Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador is praying for everyone in Twin Falls, and I’m sure many others are doing the same. It’s just a tough situation all around.
The shooting happened in a busy commercial area, which is filled with hotels, retailers, and restaurants. It’s a regional hub for southern Idaho, so it’s not like it’s some small, quiet town where nothing ever happens. Nope, this is a place where people go to grab a bite to eat or do some shopping, and now it’s a crime scene. I’m sure the police are working hard to figure out what happened and catch the suspect.
Some of the state’s representatives in Washington, DC, are weighing in on the situation, with Idaho Sen. Mike Crapo urging locals and visitors to obey law enforcement and report any suspicious activity. Idaho Rep. Mike Simpson is monitoring the situation closely, and I’m sure he’s not the only one. It’s just one of those situations where you hope everything gets resolved quickly and safely.
As I’m reading this, I’m thinking, “You can’t make this stuff up.” A shooting at an In-N-Out in Idaho? It’s just not something you expect to see in the news. But, I guess that’s just the world we live in these days. Somewhere in Atlanta, a producer thought this sounded terrifying, and now it’s all over the news.
The police are still working to release more information, but for now, it’s just a waiting game. I’m sure the people of Twin Falls are shaken, and I don’t blame them. It’s just a tough situation all around. In the end, it’s just another example of how life can change in an instant, and you never know what’s going to happen next.
