Oh no, Megadeth is touring again and we’re all doomed to have an amazing time 🤘! I mean, who needs personal space or a social life when you can spend your days and nights headbanging to “Symphony of Destruction” for the 100th time? 😂 Dave Mustaine, the lord and savior of thrash metal, has announced that Megadeth’s farewell tour (which, let’s be real, will probably last longer than some of our marriages) will be hitting the States, Europe, Asia, and even New Zealand and Australia, because why not? It’s not like they have anything better to do than play the same songs they’ve been playing for decades to a crowd of sweaty, screaming fans. 🤣
So, what’s the plan, you ask? Well, Mustaine spilled the beans on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk” (because, of course, he did), saying that they’re going to be touring with Anthrax and Kerry King (because, why not?), and then later with Black Label Society and Testament (yay, more metal!). And, because Mustaine loves to tease us, he mentioned that they might even go to South Africa, which would be great, because, you know, it’s not like they have enough fans in the US and Europe already. 🙄
The Never-Ending Tour
Apparently, Megadeth’s farewell tour is going to be a multi-year, multi-continent celebration, because one farewell show just wouldn’t be enough. I mean, who needs a simple goodbye when you can drag it out for years and make everyone’s lives miserable with anticipation? 🤣 Mustaine said that they’re going to keep touring until the shows start to suffer, which, let’s be real, will probably be never, because Megadeth fans are a dedicated bunch (read: cult-like). And, if Mustaine’s hand condition gets too bad, he might even consider taking time off to get surgery, but only if it means he can come back and play even more shows. 🤦♂️
But wait, there’s more! Megadeth’s 24-date “Breakout: Hibernation Of The Nations” European tour is set to kick off in March 2027, with Black Label Society and Testament in tow, because why not? It’s not like they have anything better to do than tour with Megadeth for the millionth time. 🙄 The tour follows the “overwhelming global success” (read: moderate success) of their latest album, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, because, of course, it did. 📈
A Brief History of Megadeth’s Success (or Lack Thereof)
For those who may have forgotten (or tried to forget), Megadeth’s latest album, “Megadeth”, was released in 2026 to moderate fanfare and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, with 73,000 equivalent album units sold in the US. Wow, that’s a lot of albums… for a band that’s been around for decades. 🙄 The album was also a success in other countries, including Australia, Austria, and Finland, because, you know, those countries are just dying for some good old-fashioned thrash metal. 🤣
In conclusion, Megadeth is touring again, and we’re all doomed to have an amazing time. Or, at the very least, we’ll have an excuse to drink too much beer and scream our lungs out to “Peace Sells” for the 100th time. 🍺🤘 So, if you’re feeling brave (or just plain stupid), grab your tickets now and experience the thrill of watching a 60-year-old man shred on stage while trying to remember the words to “Holy Wars”. 🤣🎸
