Oh boy, are you guys ready for some totally-not-at-all-ironic news? 🤦♂️ STEEL PANTHER, the most tongue-in-cheek, über-macho, hair-metal-revival band out there, is releasing new music! I know, I know, you’ve all been waiting with bated breath for this announcement. I mean, who doesn’t love a band that’s essentially a parody of the ’80s, but somehow still manages to be more ’80s than actual ’80s bands? 🤣
So, vocalist Michael Starr confirmed in an interview with The Mighty VH podcast that STEEL PANTHER’s got a brand new record coming out, with all the songs done and mastered, and they’re just working on the artwork now. Because, you know, the artwork is the most important part of any album 🙄. The album is set to drop in spring 2027, and they’ll probably start releasing singles in February, because who needs a solid release strategy, anyway?
But wait, there’s more! This new album will be their first since 2023’s “On The Prowl”, and it’s being released under their new record label, Frontiers Music Srl. Because, you know, a new label means a whole new era of STEEL PANTHER, and not just the same old shtick 🙃. And, as a reminder, the band released “The Mother’s Day Song” back in May, which was their first original music release in three years. Yeah, because nothing says “motherly love” like a STEEL PANTHER song 🤷♀️.
The History of STEEL PANTHER: A Brief Summary
For those who may not be familiar, STEEL PANTHER was formed in 2000 and specializes in imitating and exaggerating the less flattering aspects of 1980s hair metal. Because, you know, the world really needed more of that 🙄. Their music has been described as a mix of VAN HALEN, MÖTLEY CRÜE, RATT, and “Wayne’s World”, complete with operatic shrieks, misogyny, shredding guitar solos, and libidinal overdrive. Yeah, because that’s exactly what the world is missing 🤦♂️.
In other news, STEEL PANTHER’s debut album, “Feel The Steel”, was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for sales in excess of 100,000 copies in the United Kingdom. Wow, 100,000 people actually bought that album 🤑. And, as a treat, they released a 15th-anniversary edition of the album, featuring two tracks that were only released on the original Japanese import: “You Don’t Make Me Feel Dumb” and “I Want Your Tits”. Because, you know, those song titles aren’t problematic at all 🙄.
What’s Next for STEEL PANTHER?
So, what can we expect from this new album? More of the same old STEEL PANTHER shenanigans, probably 🤷♂️. But hey, if you’re into that sort of thing, you’ll probably be stoked. And who knows, maybe they’ll even throw in some new, innovative lyrics about sex and partying 🎉. But let’s be real, we all know what we’re getting with STEEL PANTHER: a healthy dose of sarcasm, irony, and over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek humor 🤣. So, go ahead and mark your calendars for spring 2027, and get ready to party like it’s 1989 🎉. Or not 🙅♂️. Your call 🤷♂️.
