Dawnwalker Gets Tougher and Fluffier with New Update

Dawnwalker Gets Tougher and Fluffier with New Update

Oh joy, another update to a game that’s still trying to find its footing, because what’s a live-service game without a constant stream of patches and promises of future content? The Blood of Dawnwalker, the action RPG from Rebel Wolves, is getting its biggest update yet, with over 1100 improvements and fixes, because who’s counting, right? It’s not like they’re trying to make up for a lackluster launch or anything. The update, dubbed 1.1, is set to launch next week, and I can barely contain my excitement, said no one who’s been burned by promises of “game-changing” updates before.

The Update We’ve All Been Waiting For (Not Really)

According to the infographic released by Rebel Wolves, the update will bring a slew of new features, including the Draught of Mind Rebirth, which allows players to reset their abilities and start fresh, because who needs a sense of accomplishment, anyway? There’s also the highly anticipated “Directional Animal Petting” feature, because what’s an RPG without a good dose of animal cuddling? And, of course, the update will include a new Story mode with additional combat assist, because the original Story mode was just too challenging for some players. I mean, who needs a challenge when you can have your hand held through the entire game?

The update will also bring some much-needed tweaks to the game’s camera system, targeting, and lock-on mechanics, because it’s not like these are basic features that should have been included at launch. And, as a cherry on top, players will be able to adjust subtitle settings to their heart’s content, because who doesn’t love a good subtitle? It’s not like this is a feature that should have been included from the start, but hey, better late than never, right?

A New Era for Dawnwalker

The Blood of Dawnwalker has been out for a few months now, and while it received generally positive reviews, it’s clear that the game still has a long way to go. The lack of a New Game Plus mode is still a major oversight, and the fact that it’s not included in this update is a bit of a letdown. But hey, at least we’re getting a bunch of other features that we never knew we needed, like the ability to pet animals in a directionally-aware manner. It’s not like the game’s developers, Rebel Wolves, are trying to distract us from the fact that the game is still missing some key features or anything.

A Game of Ambition

The Blood of Dawnwalker is the first game from Polish studio Rebel Wolves, founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game has been praised for its ambition, and it’s clear that the developers are trying to create something special. But, as with any live-service game, it’s hard not to feel like we’re being strung along, waiting for the next update, the next patch, the next promised feature. It’s a never-ending cycle, and one that’s becoming all too familiar in the world of gaming.

In conclusion, the upcoming update for The Blood of Dawnwalker is a mixed bag, full of features that are both exciting and underwhelming. While it’s great to see the developers actively supporting the game, it’s hard not to feel like we’re being sold a bill of goods that’s not quite delivered. But hey, at least we’ll have directional animal petting, right? That’s gotta count for something. The Blood of Dawnwalker is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, for those who are still holding out hope that the game will eventually live up to its full potential.
