SALIVA honors LIMP BIZKITs SAM RIVERS with obligatory tribute song

Oh boy, are you guys ready for some news that will absolutely, positively, without a doubt change your life forever? 🤯 I’m talking, of course, about the fact that SALIVA has released a new music video for their song “Rivers”. I mean, who isn’t excited about that? 😴 The song is dedicated to the late LIMP BIZKIT bassist Sam Rivers, because apparently, that’s exactly what the world was missing – a tribute song to a guy who played bass for a band that was popular 20 years ago. 🙄

So, “Rivers” is taken from SALIVA’s latest album “Breaking Through”, which was released in August via Judge & Jury Records. Because, you know, the world really needed another SALIVA album. I mean, it’s not like they’ve been releasing music for over two decades or anything. 🙃 The album features collaborations with some big names, including Johnny Van Zant of LYNYRD SKYNYRD, Trevor McNevan of THOUSAND FOOT KRUTCH, and Austin John Winkler, the founder and former frontman of HINDER. Because, you know, that’s exactly what SALIVA was missing – a little bit of country rock and some Christian metal. 🤷‍♂️

The Song

SALIVA singer Bobby Amaru commented on the song, saying: “‘Rivers’ was written in honor of my late friend Sam Rivers, who passed away last October. He was a huge inspiration to me, and someone who helped shape my path very early in my career.” Wow, I’m so touched by this heartfelt tribute. I mean, who wouldn’t want to dedicate a song to a guy who played bass for a band that was known for their unique blend of rap and rock? 🙄 Amaru also explained that the song is about how rivers never truly die, they just keep rolling on. Because, you know, that’s a totally original and not-at-all-overused metaphor. 🌊

But wait, there’s more! The album “Breaking Through” was produced by Amaru and Steve Perreira, with executive production from Howard Benson (MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, SKILLET, DAUGHTRY) and Neil Sanderson of THREE DAYS GRACE. Because, you know, the production team is always the most exciting part of any album. 😴 The album features 13 tracks, including “Hit ‘Em Where It Hurts”, “Cope”, and “Too Broke To Fix”. Because, you know, those are exactly the kind of song titles that will get you pumped up and ready to rock. 🤘

The Band

SALIVA has been around for a while, and they’ve had their fair share of ups and downs. They exploded onto the hard rock scene with anthems like “Click Click Boom” and “Your Disease”, the latter of which earned a Grammy nomination. Because, you know, that’s exactly what every band wants – a Grammy nomination for a song that’s over 20 years old. 🙄 Since 2011, frontman Bobby Amaru has led the band through a new era, releasing albums like “Rise Up”, “Love, Lies & Therapy”, and “10 Lives”. Because, you know, that’s exactly what the world needs – more SALIVA albums. 🙃

But in all seriousness, SALIVA has been through some tough times, including the loss of founding guitarist Wayne Swinny in 2023. Amaru shared that Swinny’s legacy continues to shape their music and live shows, and that he wanted the band to continue in its current form. Because, you know, that’s exactly what every band wants – to keep going even after one of their founding members dies. 🙏

So, there you have it – SALIVA’s new music video for “Rivers” is out now. I mean, who’s excited? 🤔 Anyone? 🙋‍♂️ Yeah, didn’t think so. 😴 But hey, if you’re a fan of SALIVA, you’ll probably want to check it out. And if you’re not a fan of SALIVA, well, you can just keep on not caring. 🤷‍♂️ Either way, the world will keep spinning, and SALIVA will keep on rocking. 🌎🤘
