RUSH have partnered with Fantoons to release a special one-off shirt with proceeds to benefit victims of the recent devastating earthquakes in Venezuela. All proceeds from the shirt will be given to Hogar Bambi, a charity devoted to the orphaned and abandoned children in Venezuela.
Two massive earthquakes hit Venezuela just forty seconds apart on June 24th, followed by over 430 aftershocks. As of this posting, more than 2,000 people have been confirmed dead, with more than 11,000 injured, although both numbers are expected to increase significantly.
Charity Efforts
Fantoons is a Venezuela production company that has produced illustrations and animations for artists and bands like Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, and of course RUSH. The special RUSH shirt can be purchased here.
Current Tour
RUSH are currently in the midst of their “Fifty Something” reunion tour. They recently postponed two Fort Worth, Texas shows due to Geddy Lee’s battle with bronchitis and laryngitis. The North American run is scheduled through December, with tickets available here.
See front and back images of the limited edition shirt below.
In conclusion, the partnership between RUSH and Fantoons is a great example of the music industry coming together to support those in need. The devastating earthquakes in Venezuela have caused immense damage and loss of life, and it is heartening to see RUSH using their platform to raise funds and awareness for the victims. Fans can support this worthy cause by purchasing the special RUSH shirt, and also by attending their upcoming shows on the “Fifty Something” reunion tour.
