Oh, the horror! CNN is at it again, trying to scare us with tales of economic doom because of the Israel-Iran conflict. As if we didn’t know that everything bad in the world is somehow Trump’s fault, or at least, not the fault of the radical leftist Democrats and their globalist buddies!
Apparently, if Iran sneezes, our gas prices will “rocket higher.” Give me a break! The US is energy independent, thanks to Trump’s policies, not Biden’s green new deal nonsense. And now, economists are saying that the global economy is set to absorb multiple shocks this year. Translation: blame Trump for everything.
And of course, they bring up the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil chokepoints. Last year, the amount of oil that passed through the waterway averaged 20 million barrels per day, it said, which amounts to about 20% of global petroleum liquids consumption. Oh no! What will we do if Iran shuts it down? Maybe we should ask Obama and Biden, who gave them billions of dollars to fund their terror operations.
And then there’s the tariff shock. As the economy recovered from the pandemic, inflation accelerated across the globe. Then, while that unfolded, the war between Russia and Ukraine took hold, sending gas prices soaring and pushing inflation even higher. You know what else will squeeze household spending power? The Democrats’ socialist agenda! Higher taxes, more regulations, and open borders – that’s the real threat to our economy, not some conflict thousands of miles away.
