Michelle Branch Reboots The Game of Love with New Radicals

MICHELLE BRANCH marked the 25th anniversary of her debut record with a nostalgic livestream dubbed MBTV, during which she announced Everywhere and Back Again, a new EP reimagining her classic tracks, and a fall tour. Today, BRANCH has revealed the full tour itinerary and the first listen to the EP, “The Game of Love” featuring New Radicals.

EP and Tour Details

Arriving November 6th via BMG, Everywhere and Back Again finds BRANCH revisiting some of her best-known songs with new collaborators and friends. First up is “The Game of Love,” her Santana collaboration from his 2002 Shaman LP. The track was written by New Radicals’ Gregg Alexander, who also sang on the demo version before producer Clive Davis decided it needed a female vocal. After trying out Macy Gray and Tina Turner, Alexander suggested BRANCH, and that led to a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

“’The Game of Love’ has been such a special song in my life made possible by one of my personal musical heroes, Gregg Alexander from New Radicals,” BRANCH said in a statement. “Many people don’t realize that Gregg Alexander wrote ‘The Game of Love ‘and being able to sing this together with him is really a full circle moment and captures the original spirit of the demo.”
