Oh boy, it’s official: Sid Wilson, aka #0, is out of Slipknot! 🚫 I mean, it’s not like we didn’t see this coming or anything. I’m shocked, SHOCKED, that the band finally had enough of his behavior towards his bandmates. I guess 28 years of dealing with his crap was just too much to handle. According to TMZ, the decision to kick him out was “a long time coming” and that the band “finally had enough of Sid’s behavior… namely, the way he treated his bandmates.” Wow, what a shock. Who wouldn’t want to fire someone who’s been acting like a diva for almost three decades? 🙄
The news broke on Friday, July 31, and I’m pretty sure the entire metal community is still reeling from the shock. I mean, who’s going to provide the sound effects and background noises for Slipknot now? 🤔 Will they have to hire a new DJ to fill the void left by #0? The world is just so uncertain right now.
The Fall of Sid Wilson
So, apparently, Sid’s exit from Slipknot was planned to be announced this week, but the band “lost control of the rollout” when TMZ reported his dismissal on Friday. Yeah, because nothing says “controlled rollout” like a TMZ exclusive. 📰 I’m sure the band is just thrilled that their internal drama is all over the tabloids. Jim Root, the band’s guitarist, even shared a cryptic Instagram Stories post that seemed to address the situation, soundtracked by Slipknot’s 2008 song “‘Til We Die”. Because what’s a band drama without a little bit of vague social media posting, am I right? 🙄
Sid Wilson had been a member of Slipknot since 1998, and in that time, he’s managed to make a name for himself as a bit of a wild card. Who could forget his illustrious career as DJ Starscream, touring and spinning tracks under the name of a Transformers character? 🤖 I mean, it’s not like he was just winging it the entire time or anything. And let’s not forget his personal life, which has been a veritable rollercoaster of drama and excitement. From his engagement to Kelly Osbourne to their subsequent breakup, Sid’s personal life has been a hot mess express. 🚂
What’s Next for Slipknot?
So, what’s next for Slipknot now that #0 is out of the picture? Will they continue to tour and make music without their beloved DJ? 🤔 Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: the band will definitely miss Sid’s unique brand of crazy. I mean, who else is going to provide the sound effects and background noises for their music? 🎵 Maybe they’ll just have to hire a new guy to wear the #0 mask and pretend to be Sid. That’s definitely not a recipe for disaster or anything. 🤦♂️
In all seriousness, though, it’s going to be interesting to see how Slipknot moves forward without Sid Wilson. Will they be able to find a new member who can fill the void left by #0, or will they just have to adapt to a new dynamic? 🤔 One thing’s for sure: the metal community will be watching with bated breath as this drama unfolds. So, stay tuned, folks, it’s going to be a wild ride. 🎢
