Slipknot Ditches Sid Wilson Because His Jumping Got Old

Oh no, the sky is falling! SLIPKNOT has parted ways with longtime member Sid Wilson, and I’m totally not okay with it 🤯. I mean, who needs a DJ and keyboardist who’s been with the band for 28 whole years, right? It’s not like he was an integral part of their sound or anything. The band shared a super emotional (not) statement on social media, saying “Effective immediately, SLIPKNOT will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.” Wow, what a heartfelt goodbye 🙄.

So, what happened? Well, according to TMZ, Sid’s exit from the band was “a long time coming” and the decision to kick him out was made after the group finally had enough of his behavior… namely, the way he treated his bandmates. Yeah, because that’s never happened before in the history of rock music 🙄. It’s not like band members are notorious for being divas or anything.

The Drama Unfolds

Apparently, the band was planning to announce Sid’s departure the first week of August, but TMZ ruined the surprise by reporting it on July 31. Oops. The same day, guitarist Jim Root shared a cryptic Instagram Stories post that seemed to address the drama, soundtracked by SLIPKNOT’s 2008 song “‘Til We Die”. He wrote, “Don’t believe everything you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.” Wow, Jim, you’re like the band’s own personal zen master 🙏.

But let’s get real, Jim. We all know that when it comes to drama, the metal community is like a bunch of teenagers on social media – we can’t get enough of it 🤣. So, go ahead and try to calm us down, Jim. We’ll just be over here, speculating about what really went down between Sid and the rest of the band 🤔.

Sid’s Legacy

Sid had been a member of SLIPKNOT for nearly three decades, joining in 1998 shortly before the release of the band’s self-titled debut record. He was known as #0, producing sound effects and background noises for the group’s music. He also occasionally toured under the name DJ Starscream, because who doesn’t love a good Transformers reference 🤖? As a member of SLIPKNOT, Sid was an integral part of their sound, and his departure is definitely a loss for the band.

But hey, at least he’s got his personal life to fall back on, right? I mean, who needs a successful music career when you’ve got a famous fiancée like Kelly Osbourne and a baby on the way 🤰? Oh wait, they broke up. Never mind 🤷‍♂️. In all seriousness, Sid’s departure from the band is a big deal, and we’re all wondering what’s next for him.

So, what’s next for SLIPKNOT? Will they find a new DJ and keyboardist to replace Sid? Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure – the metal community will be watching their every move, waiting for the next drama-filled update 📺. Stay tuned, folks! 🤘
