Among The Seeds Of Death because your existential dread was missing a soundtrack

Oh boy, are you guys ready for some old-school death metal? 🤯 I mean, I’m not, but apparently, millions of you are still clamoring for the same sound that’s been around since the 80s. 🙄 MASTER, the band that’s been around longer than some of you have been alive, just dropped their 16th album, “Among The Seeds Of Death”, and I’m just so excited… to take a nap. 😴

So, MASTER has been around since 1983, and their main man, Paul Speckmann, has been keeping the flame burning with his tried-and-true death metal sound. I mean, who needs innovation when you can just stick to what works, right? 🤷‍♂️ The band’s latest album is more of the same, with songs like “Twas Always a Plan” and “Among the Seeds of Death” that are sure to get you headbanging like it’s 1989.

The Sound of Nostalgia

The album’s got all the makings of a classic death metal record, with tremolo-picking fracas, unyielding thrash beats, and Speckmann’s signature gruff vocals. But, let’s be real, it’s not like they’re breaking any new ground here. I mean, the introductory bass solo on “Injustice and Lack of Remorse” is basically just a nod to METALLICA’s Cliff Burton, and the rest of the song is just a beefy barrage of fist-pumping moments and whiplash-inducing madness. 🤯

But, hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? MASTER’s been doing this for decades, and they’ve got it down to a science. Speckmann’s lyrics are still as thoughtful and anti-government as ever, and his vocals have evolved into a mid-ranged thrash vocal rasp that’s clearly inspired by VENOM’s Cronos (RIP). 🙏

Passion and Quality

Despite the lack of innovation, the album’s still got a certain vitality to it, thanks to the underlying passion and quality of the songcraft. The title track’s got an addictive atypical guitar riff that’ll have you hitting repeat multiple times, and the rest of the album’s got a similar energy. It’s clear that MASTER’s still got it, even if they’re not pushing the boundaries of the genre.

So, if you’re a fan of old-school death metal, you’ll probably love “Among The Seeds Of Death”. But, if you’re looking for something new and exciting, you might want to look elsewhere. 🤷‍♂️ MASTER’s not going to win any awards for innovation, but they’ll always be a staple of the death metal scene. And, hey, that’s something to be proud of, right? 🎸

In conclusion, “Among The Seeds Of Death” is a solid album that’s sure to please fans of MASTER and old-school death metal. It’s not going to change the world, but it’s a fun listen that’ll have you headbanging like a maniac. So, go ahead and give it a spin, and let’s all revel in the nostalgia of it all. 🤘
