Folks, I’m sipping my coffee and reading about the latest drama in the Trump administration, and I have to say, it’s a real soap opera. Paolo Zampolli, a special envoy with ties to the Trump family, has been removed from his role after a reported feud with a top State Department official. Because, you know, that’s exactly what we need – more feuding in Washington. Zampolli was notified that his status as an envoy has been terminated, and he’s no longer a government employee. I’m shocked, just shocked.
Now, I’m not one to gossip, but apparently, Zampolli had a bit of a disagreement with Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. The two of them were exchanging emails, and let’s just say it wasn’t exactly a love fest. The feud was over chain of command and other topics, and it got pretty personal. I mean, who doesn’t love a good email fight, am I right?
This news comes on the heels of another Trump administration diplomat, Kimberly Guilfoyle, being forced to resign. It seems like there’s a bit of a shake-up going on in the administration. Zampolli, by the way, is a businessman and former modeling agent who represented Melania Trump. He even claims to have introduced her to Donald Trump at a party back in 1998. Small world, huh?
In a statement, Zampolli said that his special envoy role was only supposed to last a year, but Trump extended it for six months. He also mentioned that Trump told him he was too good for modeling and brought him into real estate. I’m not sure what’s more surprising, the fact that Trump gave him career advice or that Zampolli actually listened.
Zampolli also said that serving Trump and the United States has been the greatest honor of his life. Aw, isn’t that sweet? He’s also grateful to Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and the entire team. I’m sure they’re all just thrilled to have him on board. Or not.
It’s worth noting that Zampolli has had a bit of a controversial past. He stirred up some drama earlier this year when he suggested that Italy could play in the World Cup instead of Iran. Because, you know, that’s exactly how international soccer works. He also said that a World Cup without Messi isn’t a real World Cup, which, let’s be real, is a pretty bold statement.
Trump announced Zampolli as special envoy for global partnerships back in March 2025. At the time, he said that Zampolli’s extensive experience working with the United Nations and the Kennedy Center made him the perfect candidate for the job. I’m sure it had nothing to do with their personal connection.
In the end, it seems like Zampolli’s time in the Trump administration has come to an end. But don’t worry, folks, I’m sure he’ll be just fine. After all, as he said, Trump changed his life once, and now he’s done it again. I’m just curious to see what’s next for this colorful character. Maybe he’ll start a reality TV show or something. Stranger things have happened, right?
