Oh boy, are you guys ready for some nostalgia overload? 🤯 Because I just got word that BIOHAZARD is back with a new album, “Divided We Fall”, and it’s like they just took a time machine back to 1994! 🕰️ I mean, I’m not complaining or anything, but it’s like they’re trying to make me feel old or something. 😂
So, it turns out that BIOHAZARD bassist/vocalist Evan Seinfeld was feeling a little uncertain about which direction to take the new album, considering they hadn’t recorded anything since 2012’s “Reborn In Defiance”. But then, Matt Hyde, who’s worked with SLAYER and HATEBREED, came along and told them to just chill and make a BIOHAZARD record. And, well, it seems like they took his advice to heart, because the new album is getting compared to their classic “Urban Discipline” album from back in the day.
Back to the Future
Evan Seinfeld had some pretty interesting things to say about the new album in a recent interview with Laughing Monkey With Shawn Ratches. He mentioned that the feedback they’ve been getting is that the album sounds like “Urban Discipline 2.0”, but with a modern twist thanks to Matt Hyde’s production. And, honestly, who can blame them for going back to what works? I mean, it’s not like they’re trying to reinvent the wheel or anything. 🙄
But, seriously, Evan seems pretty stoked about how the album turned out, saying it’s “far and away” their best-produced album to date. And, hey, with Matt Hyde at the helm, it’s not hard to see why. The guy’s got a pretty impressive track record, and it shows in the album’s sound. 🎸
A Blast from the Past
So, what’s the secret to BIOHAZARD’s success? Well, according to Evan, it’s all about not overthinking things and just making a BIOHAZARD record. And, hey, it seems like that approach paid off, because the album is getting some pretty great reviews. 🤘 But, let’s be real, it’s not like they’re breaking new ground or anything. I mean, it’s BIOHAZARD, for crying out loud! They’re like the comfort food of metal bands – you know what you’re getting, and it’s always going to be good. 🍴
And, hey, if you’re feeling nostalgic for the good old days of metal, then “Divided We Fall” is definitely the album for you. It’s like a time capsule of sound, transporting you back to a era when metal was all about the riffs and the aggression. 🤯 But, let’s not forget, this is 2025 we’re talking about, and BIOHAZARD is still going strong, with the original lineup intact and ready to rock. 🤟
So, what’s next for BIOHAZARD? Well, they’ve already got a few shows lined up, including a reunion show at the Milwaukee Metal Fest back in May 2023. And, hey, if you’re lucky enough to catch them live, you can bet your bottom dollar it’s going to be a wild ride. 🎟️ But, for now, we’ve just got to settle for the new album, which is available now via BLKIIBLK. So, go ahead and give it a spin, and let’s take a trip down memory lane together! 🎧
