Get ready for some serious headbanging, folks! 🤘 The one and only MADBALL is back with their tenth studio album, “Not Your Kingdom”, and it’s about to blow the roof off! 🌪️ Released on July 24 via Nuclear Blast, this album is the real deal – a true masterpiece that will make you want to jump, scream, and maybe even cry (but in a good way, we promise 🤧). With their unique blend of old-school and modern heavy music, MADBALL is the perfect bridge between the past and the present 🌉. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good dose of New York hardcore? 🗽️ It’s like a punch in the face, but in a good way… or is it the other way around? 😂
So, what can we expect from “Not Your Kingdom”? Well, for starters, it’s got that classic MADBALL sound – you know, the one that makes you want to throw things and scream at the top of your lungs 🗣️. But this time around, they’re taking it to the next level with deeper, more introspective lyrics that will make you feel all the feels 🤯. Frontman Freddy Cricien is spilling his heart out on this album, and it’s like he’s speaking straight to your soul 💬. The second single, “Tethered”, is a perfect example of this – it’s like a time machine that takes you back to the good old days of NYHC, but with a fresh twist 🕰️. And let’s not forget the music video, which is basically a love letter to New York City 🗽️. It’s like a big ol’ hug for the city that never sleeps 🤗.
But don’t just take our word for it! 🤔 Freddy Cricien himself says that “Tethered” is one of the last songs they wrote for the album, but it’s also one of the most special 🎉. And with good reason – it’s got that infectious, bouncy groove that’ll get stuck in your head for days 🎶. The first single, “Rebel Kids”, is another story altogether – it’s like a call to arms, a battle cry for all the rebels out there 🤖. And with its anthemic chorus and unrelenting energy, it’s the perfect song to get you pumped up and ready to take on the world 🌎.
The album was tracked at The Boneyard Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, with some additional interludes recorded by Jeff “Stress” Davis and Chuck Treece at Chop Shop Studios 🎙️. And with a production team that includes Andrew Baylis, Aiden Thompson, and Grady Saxman, you know it’s going to sound amazing 🎧. Not to mention the striking cover art, which features photography by the legendary Cornell Capa 📸. It’s like a work of art, people! 🎨
MADBALL is:
Vocals – Freddy Cricien (the man, the myth, the legend 🙌)
Guitar – Mike Gurnari (the shred master 🎸)
Drums – Mike Justian (the beatmaster 🥁)
Bass – Paul Delaney (the new kid on the block 🤓)
And don’t forget, in August 2023, longtime MADBALL bassist Jorge “Hoya Roc” Guerra announced his departure from the band 🚫. But don’t worry, there’s no bad blood – they’re just moving in different directions 🌈. MADBALL originated in the late 1980s as a side project of Agnostic Front 🤘, and the rest, as they say, is history 📚.
Their latest album, “For The Cause”, was released in June 2018 via Nuclear Blast 📆, and it was mixed and mastered by the renowned producer Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios in Denmark 🇩🇰. It was co-produced by Tim Armstrong (RANCID) 🤝, who’s also featured on the album 🎤. And let’s not forget the photo credit, which goes to the amazing Dave Causa 📸.
So, what are you waiting for? 🕰️ Go listen to “Not Your Kingdom” and experience the magic of MADBALL for yourself 🎉. And don’t forget to watch the music videos for “Tethered” and “Rebel Kids” – they’re like a little piece of heaven in your eyes 🌟.
