The tour will kick off soon, with support from BUTCHER BABIES and DEVIL’S CUT, because why not? 🤘 It’s not like MUDVAYNE is doing anything else this year, since they’re taking a break from touring and recording in 2026. I mean, who needs new music from MUDVAYNE when you can just have Chad Gray playing their old songs with a different band? 🙄
In a recent interview with The Logan Show, Gray explained that he’s doing this solo tour because he’s just not used to sitting around doing nothing. You know, after 25 years of non-stop touring and recording, he’s just bored out of his mind 🤯. “I’m not taking 2026 off,” he said. “I don’t give a fuck.” Wow, what a compelling reason to start a solo tour 🙄.
The Fans Are Apparently Excited
Gray also mentioned that some fans might be excited to see songs from both MUDVAYNE and HELLYEAH performed on the same night. Yeah, because that’s not something you can just see at a MUDVAYNE or HELLYEAH show 🤷♂️. “That’s exciting for me, too,” he said. “You can’t always guarantee that MUDVAYNE fans are gonna be HELLYEAH fans and that HELLYEAH fans are MUDVAYNE fans.” Uh, yeah, no kidding 🙄.
The solo tour will feature Gray performing with a backing band consisting of Marcus Rafferty on guitar, Devin Attard on drums, Nick Villarreal on bass, and Joe Bonasorte on guitar. Because, you know, these guys are just as good as the actual members of MUDVAYNE and HELLYEAH 🤷♂️.
A Brief History of MUDVAYNE and HELLYEAH
For those who may not know, MUDVAYNE formed in 1996 and has sold over six million records worldwide. They’re known for their sonic experimentation, innovative album art, face and body paint, masks, and uniforms 🤡. HELLYEAH, on the other hand, was a passion project that Gray worked on with Vinnie Paul, among others. They released six albums over a decade, including their latest, “Welcome Home”, which came out in 2019 🎸.
Gray also released a solo single, a cover of “Always On My Mind”, back in 2021. Because, you know, the world was just missing a Chad Gray solo single 🙄. The track was originally recorded for his wedding to Shannon Gunz, because romance is dead 💌.
